Finally, the turkish people are angry and hurt. We had expected if not compassion, some solace from our friends and allies, and a semblance of homage from the international media. Futile as our expectations were, we maintain our hope that these modern times of trouble will pass. And that the men of decency and consience will once again appear on the western horizon. Alas, the world needs people whose ears are clogged neither with orientalist, nor islamophobic fiction.
