The Tobacco Leaf

Tobacco Leaf invites you to take a fresh look at life-to reflect deeply on the blessings we so often take for granted. This heartfelt work is a powerful reminder to greet every breath, every moment, with gratitude. At its core, it reveals the solitary struggle of a soul in search of healing and meaning. Along this journey, I've also shared the stories of the beautiful souls who crossed my path-people who left lasting marks on my heart. Under the shade of Tobacco Leaf, their lives intertwine and come alive within these pages. Woven into the narrative are memories and events that shed light on the depths of history. A chance encounter during my childhood at a rally in Samsun with the late Süleyman Demirel-who happened to become Prime Minister the year I was born-holds a central place in this story, along with a meaningful letter of congratulations penned after an election victory. Now, close your eyes and imagine the forgotten ones-those whose hearts have been broken, those left on the margins of society. Don't just read Tobacco Leaf with your eyes; read it with your heart.
