The Walking Bush Swings By

The author relates stories of everyday life in a small Turkish village where he has lived with his German wife “Die Frau” for two decades. His writing and the illustrations display a profound love of his and Die Frau’s adopted homeland and a deep appreciation of the absurdity of life in general and life in a small village in particular. Told with great humour and with occasional outbursts of pathos. Meet Nearly Normal Nuri and his brothers, Chicken Çetin [“Don’t even ask!”] and the White Settlers of a small Turkish valley. Meet two Cat-Ladies and Deniz who divided a cat. Guaranteed to raise smiles, the occasional tear and perhaps a few eyebrows.
