War, Humanity and Media

The war in Ukraine, a conflict that has reshaped global geopolitics, has sparked intense media scrutiny across the World. Yet, much of the coverage has been dominated by a Western-centric perspective, with the role of non-Western media outlets-particularly those from the Middle East-remaining underexplored. This book, War. Humanity and Media: The Middle Eastern Media on the Russia-Ukraine War, authored by Muhammad Fahim and MD Nazmul Islam, adds much-needed value to the existing literature, providing a crucial analysis of how the Middle Eastern media has reported on the ongoing war and its humanitarian consequences. Through extensive analysis, the authors provide a systemic view of how Middle Eastern media outlets have covered the Russia-Ukraine conflict, from the initial reactions to its humanitarian impacts. This book takes up the all important task of looking at the role of media in shaping public opinion, more so in a region that has had its due share of conflicts and humanitarian disasters.
